What You Need To Know Before You Launch Your Online Promotion
I have heard many social media managers saying the platform used doesn't generate sales when you make promotions for a product or service.
You need to know that it is a gamble when you run advert on the internet just like it is when you go to run marketing physically. However, you can increase your gambling chances when you approach the right would-be customer and when you use the right platform.
The potential customer you are trying to convince has the final say, but the question is if you are convincing the right person.
For example, your product definitely requires the customer to pay before having it, but you have only been convincing someone who doesn't have the financial capability or someone who doesn't have interest at all in the product and you are expecting him to engage. How is that possible?

Online is not where you are allowed to start the convincing game, you have to mark the right target. The platforms have gotten information of all the users, they know their likes, interest and all, so you have to input the right command.
One thing we must know is that, all the platforms we use; Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, Truecaller and the likes will only provide you with VISIBILITY, it now boils down on how good you can twick that visibility to turn the sales around as those platforms can assist to get your promotion to their audience if you can give them right command through the setup of the ad.
It is important to also note that your promotion will only provide the opportunity to reach those you have selected through targeting, in most cases, it might be 5% that will truely engage immediately while another tiny percentage will engage later. But you have to be on your toes to ensure you are running several test till you are sure you have set perfect target.
DO NOT LET ANY ONE DECEIVE YOU that all the reach of a promotion will convert for certain.
I remember promoting a rechargeable fan on facebook with just #2000. I gained 3 customers of which one of them bought 6 pieces and up till today, each week, that single customer keeps asking for other products but the other two never asked for any other item. This is to tell you tht just one promotion can earn you the biggest fish that will turn things around for the product or services, that is the power of online promotion as you don't know who is who.
I was checking that promotion performance and I stopped it when I got the customer so as to use the remaining ad balance for another promotion.
To get good result with promotions, you need to try out different posts and placement then lay strong hold to that which is yielding more result.

You must also understand that some of your target may not convert immediately, but they will save the needed contact and then convert later. This happened when I had a contract with one of the leading international furniture company (Which I even introduced LinkedIn to because of the calibre of people that have the resources to buy are also on LinkedIn). The ad reached right audience and they came knocking few weeks after we even ended the promotion.
There was also this festive online promotion that was done for an eatery, the combination of the content was superb and this client was so busy during that festive period, all thanks to the promotion.
In all, your TARGET and TIMING is super important to make good use of the VISIBILITY the platform is offering.
