Just like the difference between a wife and a girlfriend, we shouldn't also get this twisted as there are large difference between a lover and a friend. 

Though, before the relationship with the lover, there is a wide margin between the friends and the would-be lover, but immediately the relationship with the lover is defined, there become a large difference between the lover and the friend. 

1. A friend is never a romantic partner:

This is one significant difference between a lover and a friend. There is a limit to everything you do with a friend. 

You cannot say because someone is your friend then they should also fulfil the romantic pleasure with you.

3. You are free with friends than lover:

This is because you will want to be careful with lover so as not to fall victim of breakup. Meanwhile, friend cannot threaten you with breakup as they know they can also be the subject one day. 

4. Unlimited friends but limited lover:

There is a large room to entertain a friend, but tiny room for a lover as your lover cannot even tolerate sharing you with someone else, neither will you. 

5. Limited time with friends and unlimited time with lover:

No matter how much time you wish to spend with your friends you will be conscious of the time as your lover is expecting you and no one will query you when you spend the whole day with your lover.

The day you start staying longer than expected with friends is when your lover start cautioning you as they will start feeling unsecured. 

6. Jealousy issue: 

When you start the relationship your friends start getting jealous of the fact that you will shift attention away from them.
