Making an ex a best friend can ruin your new relationship

As much as i wouldn't support being a complete enemy with your ex, it is not also advisable to make your ex a best friend.

When we talk of best friend it means you  cannot do for long without that person as you share so many things in common and together.

You cannot make an ex a best friend and sometimes you will not have a fling for each other despite the fact that you are ex.

Apart from that, you cannot have your ex as your best friend and expect that your current lover will be happy about it.

The fact that your current lover knows about the ex, they will be feeling unsecured as regards the relationship between you and your so called ex.

No one is saying you shouldn't be friends, but the friendship must be from afar.

You need the space to be able to understand and make the new relationship work.

You need to be far away from your ex in order to avoid guilty conscience that may arise while seeing your ex around you which might be detrimental to your new relationship.

It has never been easy for two opposite sex to be best friends let alone those that have once dated each other.

I am sure your new lover will not even accept the friendship as he/she sees those you call your friends of opposite gender as rivals, how then will he/she see an ex?

Once he/she is your ex just forget about any friendship that may want to arise.

This doesn't mean you cannot say hi once in a while maybe when you meet by coincident or help each other  maybe by linking him/her with the right source in case the ex needs a job and other assistance.

But the situation where you will be making decisions together or sharing things together has gone as greetings is what you owe each other, no fight.
